Man, in his arrogance, thinks himself a great work worthy the interpretation of a deity. More humble, and I think truer, to consider him created from animals. -- Charles Darwin

Inssa or Inssi (oops) Ba3den, kilna min beirut (wou la Beirut)
I like, I like! But what about cruelty and violence and destruction? Does that make us human too, or does it rather turn us into something much more despicable than the lowliest form of animal species??
Dear Delirious, I guess those who engage in crulety, violence, destruction and war are still "mammals". I still like to associate "human" with "love". Only humans are capable of love and love is not violent or cruel ... For love is sufficient unto love.
where did u go? i like ur posts. tell us now, how's beirut after the war? what's happening? how r the people? what do they say? what do they think? and how r u doing? what do u think about all of this? (i keep asking my parents and friends in lebanon, everyone says mesheh el7al...life is going back to normal, slowly.)i hope(and???pray)...
where did u go? i like ur posts. Well I just went out for a while. I was getting itchy being at home under the bombs. I went out to check on my city and my fellow citizens. I have many stories to tell. Thank you for liking the posts, Anonymous, bear with me I will be writing again. More in Lebanese though. Check my Ana Min Beirut Bil Arabeh Blog. أنا من بيروت بالعربي
If you ask me how's Beirut and the people I tell you you should go down to Dahyeh now and see how your fellow citizens are handling this tragedy. I am so proud to be part of this land. I promise you we will emerge from this stronger than ever. My heart bleeds for those enfants who died and the other civilians. All the other losses are just a new opportunity to build a better and prettier Beirut. Please think on how you can help we want to rely on ourselves as much as possible.
my friend,(ma3leih?) unfortunately i can't go to da7eyeh, stuck on the other side of the world. i was there though during the war(vacation)....it wasn't easy to leave wel balad 3am ye7terek..never felt m3alla2a bi 7al balad wel ness yelle fee as much as now. it sucks to be far away. for the first time in 5 yrs i feel like in exile. i spend hrs reading the lebansese blogs, only eat lebanese now and wear a small flag on my jacket. only talk to lebanese. why can't we be that united bi lebnen? i know my country very well. 7elou w z5eer. so vulnerable now. " we will emerge from this stronger than ever". i want to believe u. i want to go back.
Anonymous, friend min kil bidd, who can turn an offer of friendship. can u pick a name though. Not necessarily your true one, but I like to converse with a concrete person, so I can let my imagination build a personality based on the(nick)name.
I feel your pain. I was on the other side of the world during the 89-90 war and it was gut wrenching, no phones, email or msn. What can I say, be strong. ma tkhafeh, el balad is united eventhough Future TV or LBC or the others want us to believe otherwise. And u better believe that we will emerge stronger. Just keep following what will happen in the next 3 months. Watch how the Lebanese will redefine "RESILIENCE". 2iltiloun baladna 3am yikhla2 jdid ... Lebnan el Karameh...
Putain !!!!!!!! I LOVE the nickname...so now every time you write I will think of a dark, tall tanned gypsy woman near a golden wheat field in the south of France and Gainsbourg in the background ... That my friend definitely beats Anonymous !!!!

Which in turn turns us into animals to inflict injury upon our brethren.
Awlak Hek !!! Hope not.
What did Darwin say?
